OFF-ICE TRAINING (16 Hours):
Summary
DB Fitness athletic program is tailored to compliment all aspects of personal development to ensure safety and achieve maximum potential. DB Fitness athletes will actively learn the fundamental movements required for all aspects of training, including balance, strength, and endurance.
Warm up
The importance of warming up is so the muscles can contract and relax efficiently. Warming up helps to reduce the risks of pulls and strains by elevating the body temperature and will allow more oxygen to be available to the muscles.
Stretching
Dynamic - Dynamic Stretching prepares the body for workout load by taking the body through stretches in motion to promote joint mobility, stability as well as muscle activation
Static - Static stretching consists of stationary stretching which promotes supply of blood and nutrients to joint structure, a decreased risk of injury, a reduction in muscular tension as well as increased range of motion
Foam Rolling
Athletes will properly learn how to use a foam roller while doing it safely. Knowing how to use a foam roller effectively is important in terms of muscle recovery. Foam Rollers help improve over all flexibility while obtaining a better range of motion in the joints and producing overall better blood circulation to the muscles.
Hockey Specific Yoga
Yoga is a very important part to our program. Staying aware of the body and mind promotes performance and muscle control. Yoga helps reduce muscles soreness and aids in flexibility while reducing the risk of injury.
Intro to Exercise
DB Fitness Athletes will be going through step by step fundamental exercises that consist of Squatting, Lunging, Bending, Twisting, Pulling, and Pushing. Proper Movement patterns promotes good posture and overall stability.
Balance, Agility, Power
DB Fitness Athletes will actively learn fundamental balance, agility, and power exercises that will not only benefit them in their sport, but also in their every day lives. These three fundamental skills all rely on each other and when properly used together will translate into being able to generate explosive strength from the muscles, while still being able to keep proper body control.
HIIT Circuit (High Intensity Interval Training)
The HIIT Circuits will consist of all fundamental movements and skills combined into high intensity interval training. DB Fitness Athletes will be put through a specialized training circuit which combines the seven fundamental movements previously taught with balance, agility and power exercises. HIIT is designed to work both aerobic and anaerobic systems of the body while still improving strength, power and agility. Therefore, helping the muscles perform at a higher rate of intensity for a longer duration time before exhaustion.
